Exam Zoom links can be accessed from the timetable attached to this email - click on your class link for each exam.
Students will be required to Zoom throughout the duration of the exam.
Each exam will be conducted through an individual google classroom. You will be issued the classroom code at the start of the exam and asked to join. To enable this you will need to be present at least 10 minutes before the start of the exam.
Each exam will be presented digitally, however, responses will be handwritten. This means questions will appear through google classroom but will need to be answered on paper. Writing space on the exam paper will indicate expected response length.
Written responses will be scanned / photographed and uploaded to the classroom for submission. Students will be given 10 minutes to complete this task.
Each exam has incorporated extra time for reading and setup within the timetable.
Exams will be marked with the knowledge that basic information and notes are available to students in this online environment.
Students will be expected to complete the assessment in the abridged time allocation.
It is an expectation that exams will be completed under exam conditions. Students will be monitored via Zoom.
If during the exam or during marking a student is suspected of malpractice they will be required to present cause for their results.
Students are reminded of the All My Own Work principles.
Students are responsible for the security of their own work, in the event that this is not the case both detected parties will be held accountable as per College policy.
If students are unable to complete an examination due to illness or misadventure they will need to apply directly to the Director of Studies with supporting evidence. Students will then be provided with the relevant applications as per College process.
On Monday the 16th students will be emailed at 9 am with details of a practise submission. This will allow students to get comfortable with the process. I would ask that all students complete this process by 12pm to allow for feedback and troubleshooting.
I do not have lined paper for writing at home. What should I do?
Students have been provided with a printable writing booklet. If students are unable to print these at home, writing booklets are available in the Br Pelin Hall for collection for the duration of the exam period.
How do I transfer my written responses to the classroom?
Mr Sirianni and the College IT team have produced a ‘how to’ document. This will be released to students on Monday the 16th.
What happens if my internet connection is unstable?
If your internet connection has proven to be unstable during online learning please let your supervisor know at the start of the exam. Question papers will remain on screen during the exam and students can continue to write their responses. Students should be able to reconnect before the end of the exam to enable submission.
What do I do if my submission fails?
Supervisors will remain in the Zoom to answer questions and troubleshoot submission. If students are experiencing problems with Google classroom they will be given email details to enable submission.
What is the procedure for going to the bathroom during an exam?
We would hope with a shortened exam students are able to avoid bathroom breaks during an exam. If students require a bathroom break they can inform the supervisor through chat. No extra time will be given for time spent.
